Did you know that underwater archeology in the world started in Turkey; Turkish sponge divers were its pioneers and Turkey has the most richest and diverse underwater archeological heritage in the world?

Archaeologist Harun Özdaş and Ambassador Çağatay Erciyes exhibit 58 underwater photographs that they took during the expeditions of ‘’Archaeological Shipwreck Inventory Project of Turkey’’. The images displayed depicts a small portion of our blue heritage from Bronze Age to Ottoman Era. Aiming also to create public awareness about underwater archeology works, the exhibition which is a first of its kind in Turkey is organized under the patronage of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with the support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dokuz Eylül University and SUDEMER.
