Delegation of DEHUKAM and Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Conducted a Study Visit to Barcelona

As part of the “Project for Capacity Development in Marine Environmental Law within the Framework of the Barcelona Convention and Other International Documents” jointly implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change and DEHUKAM, a delegation visited Barcelona, Spain, on December 16–18, 2024, to hold a series of meetings. The delegation included DEHUKAM CEO and CC/RAC Director Dr. Mustafa Başkara, DEHUKAM Leading Researcher Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, and personnel from the Directorate General of Environmental Management of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change. During the visit, the delegation held meetings at Abat Oliba CEU University, the CER Migration Research Center of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the UNEP MAP MedWaves Regional Activity Center, and the Union for Mediterranean. Discussions included exchanges and evaluations of potential areas for collaboration with key representatives, such as Carmen Parra Rodríguez, Director of the UNESCO Chair on Peace, Solidarity, and Intercultural Dialogue and the Department of Economics at Abat Oliba CEU University; Sonia Parella, Director of the CER Migration Research Center; Jesús Maestro, Director of the MedWaves Regional Activity Center; and Grammenos Mastrojeni, Deputy Secretary-Energy and Climate Action Department at the Union for Mediterranean.
