As part of the study visit conducted within the scope of the project titled “Research Project on Türkiye’s Rights and Authorities over Living Resources in the World’s Seas”, supported by TÜBİTAK-1001 call, DEHUKAM CEO Dr. Mustafa Başkara, along with researchers Emre Önsöz and Çağrı Ünal, visited the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) located in Rome, Italy. During the visit, consultations were held regarding regional fisheries management organizations and international fisheries agreements to which Türkiye is a party.
Alicia Mosteiro Cabanelas from the FAO Fisheries Department delivered a presentation to the DEHUKAM delegation on FAO’s work in the field of fisheries and the Agreement on Port State Measures (PSMA). The study visit concluded with a Q&A session and a tour of the headquarters.
