As part of the project titled “Research on Alternative Resolution Methods in Maritime Disputes and Establishment of a Maritime Arbitration Center in Türkiye”, funded by TÜBİTAK-1001 call, a study visit was conducted by the DEHUKAM delegation. Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, Leading Researcher and Board Member of DEHUKAM, Prof. Dr. Xxx Ademuni-Odeke, Special Adviser and Senior Researcher at DEHUKAM along with researchers Muhammed Eren Başaran and Emre Önsöz, visited the Secretariat of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), located in The International Dispute Resolution Centre Limited in London, United Kingdom and also Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, along with Muhammed Eren Başaran visited the Secretariat of the Chambre Arbitrale Maritime de Paris (CAMP), located in Paris, France. During the visits, consultations were held regarding the maritime trade arbitration center that is likely to be established in Turkey. Gerard Hopkins, Honorary Secretary of the LMAA, provided information on the structure of the LMAA and its dispute resolution system; Pascal Mesnil, General Secretary of the CAMP along with Julien Raynaut, President of the Association Francaise Du Droit Maritime and Arbitrator of CAMP provided information on the structure of the CAMP and its dispute resolution system to the DEHUKAM delegation. The visits concluded with a Q&A sessions.
