“Training Program for the Project of Research on Alternative Resolution Methods in Maritime Disputes and Establishment of a Maritime Arbitration Center in Türkiye” Has Been Completed

Ankara Üniversitesi Deniz Hukuku Ulusal Araştırma Merkezi (DEHUKAM) bünyesinde Prof. Dr. Ismail Demir yürütücülüğünde gerçekleştirilen “Deniz Ticareti Uyuşmazlıklarında Alternatif Çözüm Yöntemlerinin ve Türkiye’de Deniz Ticareti Tahkim Merkezi

Within the scope of the Project of Research on Alternative Resolution Methods in Maritime Disputes and Establishment of a Maritime Arbitration Center in Türkiye, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ismail Demir at the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), an training program was held at the Ankara University Faculty of Law on 30 September 2025 with the support of TÜBİTAK.

The training program began with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Ismail Demir and included presentations by Prof. Dr. İbrahim Ermenek on “Introduction to Arbitration and Types of Arbitration,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhat Eskiyörük on “Arbitration and Arbitration Agreements” and “Arbitration in the Resolution of Disputes Arising from Maritime Trade Law,” Dr. Cansu Korkmaz on “Provisional Legal Protections in Arbitration Proceedings,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eda Manav Özdemir on “Arbitration from the Perspective of Public Institutions,” Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir on “A General Assessment of London Maritime Arbitratiors Association (LMAA) Arbitration,” and Attorney Süleyman Boşça on “Türkiye’s Potential to Become an Hub for Arbitration.”

The training program contributed to academic consultations and discussions on opportunities for cooperation by organizing training sessions in the field of maritime law and arbitration.
