The protocol was signed between the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Republic of Djibouti Institute of Diplomatic Studies to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation in the field of sea and maritime affairs. The signing ceremony took place on February 5th, 2026, during the “First Africa-Türkiye Transport Connectivity Workshop” event held in Djibouti.
Within the framework of this cooperation protocol, joint research projects will be conducted in areas related to sea and maritime law. Additionally, academic events will be organized, and expert exchange programs will be implemented.
This protocol is expected to enhance scientific and academic collaboration between Türkiye and Djibouti, contributing to joint projects in the sea and maritime field. As a significant step toward the development of regional sea and maritime policies, this cooperation will further advance the strategic partnership between the two countries.
