DEHUKAM, in collaboration with the World Maritime University and Piri Reis University, and with the support of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) program, will organize a training program titled “Train the Trainers: Strengthening Seafarers’ Living and Working Conditions at Sea” in Ankara between 27-29 August 2026. The training program is being carried out within the framework of the COST research grant titled “The BlueRights COST Action (CA23103),” which is supported by the European Union.

Within the framework of the training program, academics, experts in sea and maritime law, and representatives from various professions and sectors will come together to conduct sessions on the living and working conditions of seafarers; furthermore, measures that can be taken to improve these conditions will be discussed.

The training program, which will feature lectures by numerous national and international trainers, will cover a wide range of topics, including the abandonment of seafarers, financial security, working conditions, the legal protection of seafarers’ wages, foreign jurisdiction, digitalization in the maritime sector, and the gender dimension at sea.

The training program is limited to 30 participants and will be conducted in English. Participants will be selected from among those who register via the link below.
