Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) successfully completed its 2025 Fall Internship Program. During the internship period, our interns conducted comprehensive research on various topics related to the sea and maritime law and produced valuable work. We congratulate all our interns who successfully completed their internships and thank them for their contributions to our Center.
The interns who participated in the program, their responsible researchers, and their research topics were as follows:
Responsible researcher Büşra Deniz, intern R. Melek Yıldız worked on “Implementation of the BBNJ Regime in International Law and Türkiye’s Legal Position” and “Venezuela Country Profile”; intern Halil Muslu worked on “The Role of the United Nations in Global Maritime Security Governance” and “Latvia Country Profile”; and intern Gülce Dinçer worked on “Integrating Marine Spatial Planning into the Framework of the Sustainable Development Goals: A Comprehensive Assessment” and “Qatar Country Profile.”
Responsible researcher Dr. Ceren Cerit Dindar, intern Melisanur Aydoğdu worked on “The Legal Binding Force of the IMO’s Decarbonisation Measures” and “Philippines Country Profile.”
Responsible researcher Çağrı Ünal, intern Timur Yılmaz worked on “MSP and Blue Economy in the East Caribbean Region” and “Jamaica Country Profile,” and intern Beytullah Emre Özkan worked on “The Geoeconomic Impact of Regional and International Economic Corridors on Global Maritime Trade” and “South Africa Country Profile.”
Responsible researcher Emre Önsöz, intern Dinç Alper İlbaş worked on “Delimitation of the Continental Shelf Beyond 200 Nautical Miles and the Authority of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf” and “Morocco Country Profile,” and intern Ayşe Nur Taşpınar worked on “The Governance of the Deep Seabed within the Framework of Marine Spatial Planning and the Principle of the Common Heritage of Mankind” and “Peru Country Profile.”
Responsible researcher Zeynep Mirvan Korunç, intern Dilara Doğan worked on “Irregular Migration from Libya to Italy and Its Reflections in International Law” and “Libya Country Profile.”
We believe that the students who participated in the DEHUKAM Internship Program will continue to do important work in the field of the sea and maritime law in the future.
