Within the scope of the project titled “Research on Türkiye’s Rights and Jurisdictions over Living Marine Resources in the World’s Seas,” carried out by the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) and supported under the TÜBİTAK-1001 Program, a Training and Workshop Program will be organized in order to share the project outputs with relevant stakeholders.
In light of the increasing importance of the sustainable use of marine living resources, growing competition on the high seas, and the need to strengthen Türkiye’s legal and institutional capacity regarding its rights and jurisdictions at sea, the program has been designed to present the project findings and facilitate practice-oriented discussions.
The program will be held on 31 March 2026. The in-service training session, starting at 09:30, will address the legal framework concerning Türkiye’s marine living resources, the compatibility of national legislation with the rules of international law, and the legal infrastructure for potential fishing activities on the high seas.
The workshop session, to be held at 13:30 on the same day, will bring together representatives from public institutions, private sector stakeholders, and academics to evaluate the project outputs from a multi-stakeholder perspective and to discuss policy-oriented recommendations.
We would be pleased to welcome all interested participants.
