Dr. Mustafa Başkara, CEO of DEHUKAM, and Dr. Adnan Menderes Aydın, COO of DEHUKAM, participated as speakers in the conference titled “Contemporary Approaches from the Perspective of Maritime Law,” organized on 13 May 2026 by the Marine, Polar and Climate Law Research Community (DEKAT).
Within the scope of the conference, Dr. Mustafa Başkara delivered a presentation titled “The Blue Homeland Doctrine,” in which he addressed Türkiye’s vision regarding maritime jurisdiction areas, the contemporary dynamics of maritime geopolitics, and the strategic significance of the Blue Homeland approach.

In her presentation titled “International Law of the Sea Conventions and Türkiye,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berat Lale Akkutay, Academic Advisor of the community, provided comprehensive assessments of Türkiye’s legal approach within the framework of international law of the sea regulations.
During his speech, Dr. Adnan Menderes Aydın informed participants about DEHUKAM’s academic studies in the field of maritime law, national and international projects, and activities aimed at supporting young researchers.
