Türkiye has been re-elected to the Executive Council of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), reaffirming its continued commitment to global cooperation in ocean science and governance. The election took place during the 33rd Session of the IOC Assembly, held in Paris from 18 to 21 June 2025. Türkiye will serve a new two-year term on the Executive Council, contributing to the Commission’s strategic objectives in ocean research, policy, and sustainable marine management.
