DEHUKAM is a part of the Winning Consortium of the IPA III Project “Improving Marine Monitoring and Reporting Practices in Compliance to Marine Strategy Framework Directive”

Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) is a partner of the international consortium that has been awarded the project contract titled “Improving Marine Monitoring and Reporting Practices in Compliance to Marine Strategy Framework Directive,” funded under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) III and implemented for the benefit of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye.

 

With a total budget of EUR 760,000, the project aims to enhance the institutional capacity of competent authorities for the effective implementation of the national marine monitoring programme in line with the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) and the Regional Sea Conventions in Türkiye. Technical assistance will be provided to strengthen capacities in ecosystem-based reporting of marine monitoring programmes, online marine monitoring data management, and assessment. Furthermore, comprehensive guidelines on data aggregation and assessment methodologies, as well as a guidebook on ecosystem-based reporting of marine monitoring data, will be prepared.

 

The project will be implemented by a consortium composed of NIRAS IC Sp. z o.o. (Poland) as leader, Institutul Național de Cercetare-Dezvoltare Marină „Grigore Antipa” (Romania), and Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (Türkiye).
