We are pleased to learn that Mr. Suat Hayri Aka has been nominated for the post of Secretary General of International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
Mr. Aka began his career as captain and proceeded in government as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications. He also held seats in boards of leading private companies in Türkiye.
Mr Aka has an exceptional knowledge and experience gained at IMO and a series of distinctive international organisations including ICAO, OECD, BSEC, ECO, and TRACECA, making him also well-equipped in sophisticated maritime industry.
Mr. Aka is currently the Ambassador-Permanent Representative of Türkiye to ICAO dedicated himself pertinaciously to maritime matters.
