Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law was extended a special invitation by the Embassy of Japan, an invitation that was graciously accepted, leading to a productive meeting with HE Ambassador KATSUMATA Takahiko.
The year 2024 marks the centennial celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan, signifying a truly exceptional year. Both nations are eager to commemorate this milestone through various events, viewing it as an opportune moment to further cultivate their enduring friendship, cooperation, and bilateral relations. In line with this amicable mission, our Center has seized the opportunity to showcase its significant expertise in the sea and maritime law from both political and legal perspectives.
Within this framework, the academic symposium organization anticipated to be assumed by DEHUKAM will serve as a platform addressing the fundamental issues of maritime law and striving to fortify collaboration between Türkiye and Japan even further. This symposium will facilitate the gathering of academicians and experts specializing in maritime law, providing a space for the exchange of knowledge and fostering collaboration. As DEHUKAM, we are fully committed to making every effort for the successful execution of this important event and anticipate contributing to the flourishing of greater cooperation and friendship in this special year between Türkiye and Japan.
