At the United Nations Ocean Decade 2024 Conference, hosted by Spain and jointly organized with the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/UNESCO) in Barcelona on 10-12 April, DEHUKAM’s senior researcher Dr. Ceren Cerit Dindar presented on the topic of “Pioneering Legal Strategies for Decarbonisation of Shipping: A Vital Step for the Ocean We Want” on the panel focusing on ocean-based solutions to climate change moderated by Prof. Richard Bellerby. Three years after the start of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030), this global conference brought together the Ocean Decade community and partners to celebrate and evaluate their achievements and set joint priorities for the Decade’s future.
