As part of the “9th Our Ocean Conference” held in Greece between April 15-17, 2024, a side event titled “Bridging the Gap: Strengthening Cooperation for Climate Resilience in the Mediterranean” was orginesed by DEHUKAM in cooperation with Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). The side event highlighted the critical importance of cooperative regional efforts to tackle climate change in the Mediterranean region, with a focus on the shared responsibilities of Türkiye and Greece. DEHUKAM CEO and Climate Change Regional Activity Center (CC/RAC) Director Mustafa Başkara, DEHUKAM Board Member Prof. İsmail Demir, UNESCO Chairholder on Climate Diplomacy, Senior Policy Advisor of National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Head of the Climate & Sustainability Programme of ELIAMEP Prof. Emmanuella Doussis and ELIMEP Director Prof. Maria Gavouneli participated in the event as speakers.
