“Regional Experiences of Peaceful Settlement of Maritime Disputes: The Maritime Agreement between Republic of Costa Rica and the Republic of Ecuador” conference was held in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Costa Rica in Ankara, the Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador in Ankara and Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) on 7 October 2024 at 15:00 at Ankara University Faculty of Law Mahmut Esat Bozkurt Conference Hall.
The conference started with the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, Member of the Board of Directors and Leading Researcher of DEHUKAM, Ms. Lourdes Puma Puma, Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador in Ankara, and Mr. Gustavo Campos Fallas, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica in Ankara, and continued with the presentations of Mr. Arnoldo Brenes Castro, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica in the Netherlands, Captain Carlos Zapata Perez, and Prof. Dr. Yücel Acer, Member of the Board of Directors and Senior Researcher of DEHUKAM under the moderation of DEHUKAM Senior Researcher Asoc. Prof. Ali İbrahim Akkutay.
The conference concluded with the closing remarks of DEHUKAM CEO Dr. Mustafa Başkara and we would like to extend our gratitude to all participants who showed interest in the conference, as well as to the Ambassadors of the Republic of Costa Rica, the Republic of Ecuador, Uruguay, Guatemala, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Singapore, Nicaragua, and Paraguay in Ankara, who personally attended the conference.
