As part of the TÜBİTAK-1001 funded project titled “Research on Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods in Maritime Trade Disputes and the Establishment of a Maritime Trade Arbitration Center in Türkiye” the project coordinator and DEHUKAM Leading Researcher Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, project researcher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhat Eskiyörük, and project team members Çağrı Ünal and Selenay Köse visited the Istanbul Arbitration Center (ISTAC) on December 10, 2024. During the visit, they held a meeting with ISTAC President Prof. Dr. Ziya Akıncı, Secretary General Attorney Yasin Ekmen, and members of the ISTAC Maritime Law Commission, Attorneys Nazlı Selek and Dr. B. Ceyda Süral Efeçınar, to discuss the resolution of maritime trade disputes through arbitration and potential areas of cooperation with ISTAC.
