On 16 April 2025, a landmark development in the history of Turkish maritime governance was marked by the public release of the TMarine Spatial Planning Map of the Republic of Türkiye. This initiative was carried out under the coordination of the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), with the contributions of all relevant institutions and organizations of the Republic of Türkiye.
The Marine Spatial Planning Map of Republic of Türkiye holds the distinction of being the first map of its kind related to marine spatial planning in Türkiye. As such, it has garnered substantial attention and commentary in both national and international media.
