On May 21–22, 2025, DEHUKAM participated in the 2025 Ordinary Meeting of the Navigation, Hydrography, and Oceanography Services Planning and Coordination Board, hosted by Boğaziçi University Kandilli Observatory in Istanbul. DEHUKAM was represented by Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, Member of the Board of Directors and Leading Researcher; Dr. Mustafa Başkara, DEHUKAM CEO; and DEHUKAM Researchers Emre Önsöz and Derya Ulutürk.

During the meeting, it was decided that DEHUKAM would take on the coordination of the International Marine Sciences Conference planned to be held in 2027. Additionally, a recommendation was made for all public institutions and organizations to consult DEHUKAM on matters related to the law of the sea and to seek DEHUKAM’s opinion during the Marine Spatial Planning processes. We hope that these decisions will be beneficial to the marine sciences community.
