On 14 August 2025, a cooperation protocol was signed between DEHUKAM and the Centre for Bay of Bengal Studies at Independent University, Bangladesh in the field of sea and maritime law. The signing ceremony, held online, served as a platform for both parties to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions.

The protocol, signed by Prof. M. Tamim, Vice Chancellor of Independent University, Bangladesh, Rear Admiral Md. Khurshed Alam (Red), Director of Centre for Bay of Bengal Studies at Independent University, Bangladesh, and Dr. Mustafa Başkara, CEO of DEHUKAM, aims to foster academic and scientific cooperation and to strengthen joint initiatives in the field of the sea and maritime law.
