The International Law of the Sea Summer Academy, jointly organized by the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), Kadir Has University, and National University of Singapore Center for International Law was successfully held between 21 July and 6 August 2025.
Throughout the three-week program, leading academics, representatives of international organizations, and expert practitioners in the field of the law of the sea came together with participants to deliver a series of comprehensive lectures, seminars, and discussion sessions addressing current developments and practices.
As part of the program, judges from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), along with high-level officials serving in the United Nations and other international organizations, participated as guest speakers.

Participants had the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge on key topics in the law of the sea, including maritime boundary delimitation, protection of the marine environment, international maritime security, and the peaceful settlement of disputes.
Through such educational programs, DEHUKAM continue to enhance Türkiye’s academic and diplomatic visibility in the field of sea and maritime law.
