The Project “Climate Change Awareness in the Mediterranean from Youth Perspective,” Coordinated by DEHUKAM, Was Presented to International Participants at the Side Event During the Barcelona Convention COP 24.

Within the framework of the 24th Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention (COP 24), the side event titled “Education for Sustainable Development: A Pillar for Marine Protection and Regional Cooperation” was organized by the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), the coordinator of the “Climate Change Awareness in the Mediterranean from Youth Perspective” (Youth4Climed) project, together with the project partner FISPMED.

During the event, the objectives of the Youth4Climed project, its significance for the sustainable future of the Mediterranean, and the critical role of youth in strengthening climate awareness were presented in detail to international participants. These contributions were delivered by our project partners—Marko Prem from PAP/RAC and Margherita Poles from FISPMED—as well as by DEHUKAM Director Dr. Mustafa Başkara and DEHUKAM Researcher Derya Ulutürk. The contributions of the Youth4Climed project to a sustainable Mediterranean vision, marine conservation efforts, and regional cooperation were particularly emphasized.

We extend our sincere thanks to PAP/RAC representative Marko Prem, FISPMED representative Margherita Poles, and DEHUKAM representatives Derya Ulutürk and Dr. Mustafa Başkara for their valuable presentations, as well as to all institutions that supported the realization of this important event.

Within the scope of the Youth4Climed Project, we remain committed to strengthening climate awareness in the Mediterranean and amplifying the voices of young people at the international level.
