A Cooperation Protocol in the field of Sea and Maritime Law was signed on 17 December 2025 between the Ankara University National Research Center for Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) and Çağ University. The protocol was signed by Prof. Dr. Murat Koç, Rector of Çağ University, and Dr. Mustafa Başkara, CEO of DEHUKAM, marking an important step toward the development of joint projects and activities between the two institutions.
Within the scope of the protocol, it is also aimed to strengthen cooperation between DEHUKAM and the Eastern Mediterranean Center for the Application and Research of Sea and Maritime Law (DADHAM), which was officially established within Çağ University by the Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 24 November 2025 and numbered 33087.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Murat Koç, Rector of Çağ University, stated that the cooperation with DEHUKAM would enhance the academic capacity of the Eastern Mediterranean Center for the Application and Research of Sea and Maritime Law, emphasizing their goal of becoming a distinguished center in the region by benefiting from DEHUKAM’s expertise.

In his remarks, Dr. Mustafa Başkara, CEO of DEHUKAM, expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of the Eastern Mediterranean Center for the Application and Research of Sea and Maritime Law and its operation with a qualified academic staff. He also shared evaluations regarding potential joint projects, academic studies, and educational activities to be developed between the two institutions.

During the ceremony, Dr. Sami Doğru, Director of DADHAM, delivered a presentation on the center’s objectives and fields of activity, highlighting the significance of conducting academic and practice-oriented studies in cooperation with DEHUKAM in the Eastern Mediterranean, a region of strategic geopolitical and legal importance.
