A cooperation protocol on the law of the sea between Mogadishu City University and the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) was signed on 26 January 2025 in Mogadishu, the capital of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

The signing ceremony, hosted by the Rector of Mogadishu City University, Prof. Dr. Abdullahi A. Barise, was attended by DEHUKAM CEO Dr. Mustafa Başkara, DEHUKAM Board Member and Leading Researcher Prof. Dr. Yücel Acer, and Vice Rector of Mogadishu City University Prof. Dr. Abdulkareem H. Jama.

During the ceremony, potential activities to be carried out in the field of the law of the sea within the framework of cooperation between the two institutions were discussed.
