On 10 March 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuke Honda of Kobe University, Second Secretary Ms. Asako Kurado and Ms. Ece Aksop representing the Embassy of Japan in Ankara, as well as Project Formulation Advisor Mr. Den Takashi and Senior Program Officer Ms. Esra Yıldız representing the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), visited the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM).

During the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Mustafa Başkara, CEO of DEHUKAM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali İbrahim Akkutay, Senior Researcher at DEHUKAM, and DEHUKAM Researchers Zeynep Mirvan Korunç and Çağrı Ünal, discussions were held regarding the conference titled “Blue Economy for Sustainable Ocean Governance”, which will be held on 11 March at 14:30 at the Mahmut Esat Bozkurt Conference Hall of the Ankara University Faculty of Law. The participants also exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation and possible joint activities between Japan and DEHUKAM.
