The conference entitled “Blue Economy for Sustainable Ocean Governance” was held on Wednesday, 11 March 2026 at 14:30 at the Mahmut Esat Bozkurt Conference Hall of Ankara University Faculty of Law. The event was organized by the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Ankara and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), with the participation of ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions, officials from public institutions and organizations, academics, and university students.
The conference commenced with opening remarks delivered by H.E. Tamura Masami, Ambassador of Japan to Ankara, Mr. Daisuke Watanabe, Chief Representative of the JICA Türkiye Office, and Dr. Mustafa Başkara, CEO of DEHUKAM. Following the opening session, the conference continued under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Ali Merthan Dündar, Director of the Ankara University Asia-Pacific Studies Application and Research Center (APAM), with presentations by Assoc. Prof Yusuke Honda, Faculty Member at Kobe University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali İbrahim Akkutay, Senior Researcher at DEHUKAM.
