The III. Term of the KAMP+ Blue Homeland Camp, organized in collaboration between DEHUKAM and the Ministry of Youth and Sports General Directorate of Youth Services, was successfully held at the Bursa Karacaali Youth Camp from 1- 4 May.
The programme aimed to raise young people’s awareness of Türkiye’s maritime vision, maritime rights and current maritime policies. To this end, training sessions were organised on topics such as maritime zones, maritime diplomacy, the blue economy and international maritime law. In addition, up-to-date information on Türkiye’s Maritime Spatial Planning process, based on the work carried out by DEHUKAM, was shared with the participants.
As part of the program, the following presentations were delivered: “What is the Blue Homeland?” by DEHUKAM Senior Researcher Prof. Dr. Levent Bilgili, “Maritime Trade Law and the Bozkurt Lotus Case” by Bursa Uludağ University Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Caner, “Submarines of the Future and Underwater Technologies” by faculty member ITU Dr. Münir Cansın Özden, and “An Introduction to International Maritime Law” by Bursa Uludağ University Faculty Member Dr. Gülsüm Kaya. A practical “Maritime Law Workshop” led by DEHUKAM Project Researcher Merve Tatlı was held, facilitating an interactive session designed to reinforce participants’ theoretical knowledge.
During the camp, a visit by Dr. Enes Efendioğlu Director General of Youth Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, made a significant contribution to the programme and strengthened engagement with the participants.
In addition to the training sessions, the social events and interaction-focused activities enabled participants to both consolidate their theoretical knowledge and establish connections with peers from different disciplines. The programme concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants.
