Dr. Mustafa Başkara, CEO of the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), participated in the 11th Our Ocean Conference held in Mombasa, Kenya, from 16 to 18 June 2026, under the theme “Our Ocean, Our Heritage, Our Future.”

Within the scope of the conference, a side event titled Scaling Ocean-Climate Action at COP31: From Dialogue to Delivery through Blue NDCs and Finance Reform” will be organized on 18 June 2026 at 08:30 a.m.

The side event is being held in collaboration with the COP31 Presidency of Türkiye, the Governments of Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Fiji, and France, as well as the Ocean & Climate Platform, Ocean Conservancy, WWF-Brazil, the World Resources Institute (WRI), the UNFCCC Secretariat, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and DEHUKAM.
