A cooperation protocol in the field of sea and maritime law was signed between the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) and the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The signing ceremony took place on 3 July 2026 at Tersane Istanbul within the framework of the 5th Türkiye Maritime Summit.
During the signing ceremony, the parties discussed recent developments in Somalia’s maritime sector and exchanged views on the current situation. The significance of the cooperation protocol for Somalia, as well as the contribution of DEHUKAM’s activities in the fields of maritime law and maritime affairs to strengthening cooperation between the two countries, was emphasized.
We wish that this cooperation protocol will be beneficial for both the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Türkiye.
