Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) CEO Dr. Mustafa Başkara and COO Dr. Adnan Menderes Aydın participated in the coordination meeting held at Ankara University as part of the preparations for the 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31).

The meeting, chaired by the Rector of Ankara University, Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, was held on 28 July 2026 in the Senate Hall of Ankara University and was attended by the Vice Rectors, as well as representatives of the University’s relevant academic and administrative units.

During the meeting, the participants discussed Ankara University’s potential academic contributions to the COP31 process, prospective projects and collaborations, and ongoing preparations for the Conference. In this context, DEHUKAM provided information on its activities in the fields of maritime law, ocean governance, the blue economy, marine environmental protection, and climate change, as well as the projects and events planned to be implemented within the framework of COP31.
