A Cooperation Protocol aimed at enhancing collaboration in the fields of the sea and maritime law, and offshore wind energy was signed between the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) and The Offshore Wind Energy Association (TOWEA) by Dr. Murat Durak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DÜRED; Süleyman Önel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEHUKAM; and Dr. Mustafa Başkara, CEO of DEHUKAM.

Under the protocol, the parties aim to address the legal aspects of offshore wind energy activities, support scientific research and publications, strengthen the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and enhance cooperation among relevant stakeholders.

We continue our efforts to contribute to the sustainable development of the blue economy, to assess the potential of our seas on sound scientific and legal foundations, and to support the development of Türkiye’s capacity in the field of offshore wind energy.

We hope that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening the offshore wind energy ecosystem in Türkiye through enhanced collaboration in the fields of the sea and maritime law.
