A cooperation protocol was signed between the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on 25 August 2026.

The signing ceremony was hosted by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ebubekir Gizligider. The protocol was signed by Turgay Türkyılmaz, Director General of Fisheries and Aquaculture at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Süleyman Önel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEHUKAM, and Dr. Mustafa Başkara, DEHUKAM CEO.

The protocol aims to promote scientific research, educational activities and joint projects in areas related to the sea and maritime law, and fisheries, while strengthening institutional cooperation and the exchange of academic knowledge. This cooperation is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of legal, scientific and institutional studies, particularly in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture, and to provide academic input into Türkiye’s maritime policies.

We hope that this cooperation between DEHUKAM and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will be beneficial for both institutions and that its contributions to strengthening Türkiye’s scientific and institutional capacity in the fields of maritime affairs, fisheries and aquaculture will continue to grow.
