We are proud to announce that Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM) is a Collaborating Partner of the Ocean Pavilion, which will be located in the Blue Zone of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31), taking place in Antalya on 9–20 November 2026.

Organized by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) and UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Ocean Pavilion is one of the most prominent platforms dedicated to the ocean at the heart of the climate negotiations. This year’s theme, ”Convergence”, reflects the coming together of the climate, ocean, biodiversity and sustainability agendas. As a space for science-based policymaking and for integrating the ocean–climate nexus into national climate strategies, the Ocean Pavilion will be a critical meeting point at COP31.

This year’s partners include Bloomberg Philanthropies as Lead Partner and the Ocean Policy Research Institute (OPRI) of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation as Convening Partner. Alongside DEHUKAM, the Collaborating Partners are the Office of the Pacific Ocean Commissioner (OPOC), the American Geophysical Union (AGU), GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), Lloyd’s Register Foundation, Global ONCE and the Delta Electronics Foundation. Working under the same roof as leading institutions in ocean science, law, finance and policy is particularly valuable for Türkiye’s visibility on the global ocean–climate agenda.

At this “Blue COP” hosted by Türkiye, we look forward to welcoming all our stakeholders working in maritime law, ocean governance and climate policy, public institutions, academia, civil society organizations and private sector representatives, at our stand in the Ocean Pavilion.
