A delegation from DEHUKAM attended the high-level ministerial meeting titled “Blue Dialogue: Ocean & Seas Climate Change and Resilience,” hosted by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change on September 10–11, 2026, in Trabzon. The meeting was held with the participation of H.E. Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, and H.E. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.
The delegation representing DEHUKAM at Radisson Blu Hotel Trabzon comprised DEHUKAM CEO Dr. Mustafa Başkara with DEHUKAM Senior Researcher Dr. Alperen Furkan Taş and DEHUKAM Researcher Zeynep Mirvan Korunç.
Serving as a significant preparatory high-level ministerial meeting ahead of the 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) scheduled for November 9–20, 2026, the event addressed the protection of the marine environment, the impacts of climate change on oceans and seas, and coastal resilience from both national and international perspectives. DEHUKAM representatives contributed to the sessions with evaluations on the law of the sea and marine environmental policy frameworks.
