The conference titled “Rule of Law from the Sea and Maritime Law Perspective” was held on October 15, 2024, at 15:00 in the Mahmut Esat Bozkurt Conference Hall of Ankara University Faculty of Law, in collaboration with the Ankara University National Research Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), the Embassy of the Philippines in Ankara, and the Embassy of Japan in Ankara, with the support of the Embassy of the United States in Ankara.
The conference began with opening remarks by DEHUKAM CEO Dr. Mustafa Başkara, Ambassador of the Philippines to Ankara Mr. Henry S. Bensurto Jr., Ambassador of Japan to Ankara Mr. Takahiko Katsumata, and Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Ankara Mr. Michael B. Goldman. The event continued with presentations by Prof. Dr. Chie Kojima from Chuo University Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Henry S. Bensurto Jr., faculty member at San Beda University Faculty of Law and Ambassador of the Philippines to Ankara, and Prof. Dr. Yücel Acer, DEHUKAM Board Member and Senior Researcher, under the moderation of Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, DEHUKAM Board Member and Leading Researcher.
