The Extraordinary Session (ES.2) of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) was held on 14–17 October 2025 to adopt the decisions taken during the MEPC’s 83rd session, which took place on 7–11 April 2025. MEPC ES.2 was one of the most highly attended MEPC meetings in the Organization’s history and focused exclusively on the adoption of the IMO Net-Zero Framework decisions discussed at MEPC 83.
